‘They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer… ⁴⁴ All the believers were together and had everything in common… (they) ate together with glad and sincere hearts, ⁴⁷ praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.’ Acts 2:42-47

At the time of Pentecost the early church gathered together regularly (even daily) for fellowship. Fellowship is a rich word in the New Testament and is a translation from the Greek word, Koinonia. Koinonia means a common, shared life in Jesus Christ. It points to a meaningful sense of connection, belonging and love between brothers and sisters in Christ through the Holy Spirit. 

Fellowship:

At a time when life can feel isolating and hectic, let us heed the example of the early church and set aside this weekend for intentional fellowship. We will be sharing meals together, praying together and gathering around God’s word as Ben Smart brings us teaching about Hope from Isaiah in the Old Testament. There will be heaps of opportunity for fun and friendship for the whole family, just like a camp except we get to sleep in our own beds!

Meals:

We will be using the services of local caterers to provide all meals which is a great way to make sure everyone can participate in the weekend! There will be morning and afternoon teas, a delicious lunch and hot evening meal with desserts! There will be a number of different meal options for people to choose from and it will be delicious! We will still need a few teams however to assist with serving and clean up etc– many hands make light work! 

Finance:

There is a cost for the weekend to cover catering, the speaker, materials and incidentals but it is significantly lower than if we were to go to a camp site. Please don’t let the cost be a barrier to participating. We are hoping every member of LW will be able to sharelife this weekend. For those needing assistance, please indicate on the paper form (available in person at church), and for those able to donate toward assisting others, please also indicate on the form as well.

Saturday 24 October start at 9am: All-in day of fellowship 

Multiple sessions of Worship with Isaiah talks – Ben Smart

Kids programme running concurrently

Coffee truck onsite from 8.30am

Catered: Morning and Afternoon teas, Lunch and Dinner (GF options)

Evening fellowship and fun (all in Games and Bon Fire)

Sunday 25 October 10.30am Church Together Communion Service with lunch to follow

Sausage Sizzle provided

Fees (all inclusive): 

Adults: 15yrs +:  $80 

Kids: 4-14yrs: $40

Kids 0-3yrs are free.

Family rate: (only pay for 2 adults and two kids, rest are free)
